Type of work available

Over the Phone Interpretation - 24/7 – 300+ languages: On Demand & Scheduled Service

Our automatic phone interpreter platform searches for an ezispeak interpreter who is ‘available’ when:

  • A consumer (member of the public) dials ezispeak. We automatically connect with you and the relevant client to commence a 3 party conversation.
  • A client’s member of staff calls ezispeak whilst the customer is on the phone. We automatically connect you to the call once you have accepted the call.
  • A customer (member of the public) dials one of our clients. Our client calls ezispeak and is connected with you to commence a 3 party conversation

Video Remote Interpretation - 24/7 – 300+ languages: On Demand Service & Scheduled Service

Our video interpreter platform ‘searches’ for an ezispeak interpreters who is ‘available’ when:

  • A client’s member of staff launches a video call whilst the customer is present in person.
  • A client's member of staff launches a video call whilst the customer is at home.
  • We will send you an automated notification via email and SMS of a video call.
  • You will need launch the video call from the link provided. This will automatically open the video call for you. 
  • NB: This is an opt-in opportunity due to stringent standards. To register your interest, please email work@ezispeak.com.au

Translation, Localization, Multimedia and Voiceover Services – Project Based

  • Our production team will allocate work opportunities to translators based on experience, skill level and negotiated commercial rates.
  • The types of opportunities may include standard translations, localization programs, quality assurance projects and voice overs.

The important stuff 

Your level of Language Qualification

Australian Interpreters 

If you are an Australian based interpreter, you need to hold the highest level of language qualification available in NAATI tested languages. Copies of documentation supporting your language qualification is required. Alternatively, please provide your NAATI number for validation. 

New Zealand Interpreters

There are special considerations for New Zealand interpreters given the new NAATI Certification is being introduced nationally.

If you are a New Zealand based interpreter, you need to provide evidence of a language qualification either provided by a RTO, University or NAATI. Membership of NZSTI will also be considered in lieu of a formal qualification. Copies of documentation supporting your language skills or NZSTI membership is required. 

Outside Australia or New Zealand

In order to qualify for registration, you need to demonstrate that you possess appropriate interpreting certifications and/or qualifications from your region. For example, if you’re based in the US, you would need to provide validation of your interpreting credentials from a certified language testing accreditation body or government statutory body. You will also need provide demonstrable experience as a professional interpreter for a minimum of 3+ years.

You must consent to be engaged as a contract interpreter by agreement, which includes applicable jurisdictional laws based on your residency and compliance with our Code of Ethics and Policies. 


Financial Matters

Nature of Relationship

ezispeak engages interpreters and translators as contractors unless negotiated differently.

Australian Interpreters  - Australian Business Number

You will need to provide your current taxation status for the purposes of payment of services.

  • All contractors are to provide valid ABNs unless exempt (evidence of exemption is required)
  • All contractors registered for GST to provide valid ABN
  • If a valid ABN is not provided within 30 days, the ATO requires 49.5% of tax to be withheld.

New Zealand Interpreters  - New Zealand Business Number

You will need to provide your current taxation status for the purposes of payment of services.

  • All contractors are to provide valid NZBNs unless exempt (evidence of exemption is required)
  • All contractors registered for GST to provide valid NZBN
  • If a valid NZBN is not provided within 30 days, we are obligated to report this to IRD. 


All contractors should maintain their own business insurances if they work for more than one principal (i.e. Language Service Provider). If you would like to opt into ezispeak's group insurance policy, please email work@ezispeak.com.au 

Security Clearances

You need to provide a current National Police Check and a Working with Children Check. Documentation you have previously supplied to other language service providers is acceptable - as long as the clearances are less than 12 months old. Furthermore, you will be required from time to time to understand Probity and Character Assessments for certain ezispeak clients. 



To work with us, you will need to sign a Deed of Confidentiality which forms part of your working agreement with us. On occasion, certain clients may require our contractors to sign specific agreements to undertake work - this will be coordinated on a case by case basis. 

Quality Audits

You need to consent to independent quality control measures undertaken by ezispeak™ during the term of your agreement with us. 



You need to demonstrate you have relevant experience working as an interpreter and/or translator. To provide you with more specific opportunities, please nominate your specific sectors of choice to work in.


Proof of Identity

A copy of your photo identification – for example, a drivers licence or a passport is required to authenticate your identity.


Professional CV

To strengthen your application, we encourage you to provide a CV which includes copies of documentation supporting any professional/tertiary qualifications you may have or professional development you have undertaken.
